Program Timetable for the 2012 Medicine Subspecialty Match
First iteration
July 12, 2011 (12:00 ET)
Online request for registration opens for applicants
On-line request for registration opens for any eligible applicants who are in their PGY-3 year in Internal Medicine at a Canadian University, or who are eligible to apply to positions based on the eligibility criteria established by each university/province. Additionally, this service is available for all potential applicants to Critical Care Medicine who are not in an Internal Medicine program. CaRMS encourages reading the basic criteria, provincial criteria and program descriptions sections before registering.

Applicants begin online process
The Applicant Webstation (AWS) opens for Medicine Subspecialty Match applicants.
August 17, 2011 (12:00 ET) to August 23, 2011 (15:00 ET)
Program Webstation (PWS) set-up
Program administrators set up the Program Webstation (PWS). This process involves: setting up file reviewers and filters (both tasks may also be completed during the file review period). CaRMS offers group video conference support, as well as one-on-one telephone support to help administrators complete this task.

File review begins
Program Webstation (PWS) opens for file review.
August 31 - October 21, 2011
Interview period
Programs are responsible for scheduling interviews with applicants between August 31 and October 21 in order to allow both groups to properly prepare for the rank order list deadline.

Ranking period opens
Rank order list system opens to applicants and programs for online ranking.
October 27, 2011 (14:00 ET)
Program ROL deadline
Program rank order lists must be submitted by this date.
October 27, 2011 (15:00 ET)
Match leader ROL review
Match leaders review rank lists, quota assignment, and work with CaRMS to ensure match priorities are clearly defined and satisfied.

PGME review/approval
Postgraduate office review and approval of rank order lists begins.
November 3, 2011 (15:00 ET)
PGME review/approval deadline
Rank order list deadline for postgraduate offices.
All rank order lists must be entered and submitted.
