FM/Emergency Med. Match (R-3)

Application Process -
Interview Timetable - Interview Process

Interviews are arranged between applicants and personnel in the program offices; CaRMS is not involved in this activity. Refer to the individual program descriptions to determine interview requirements for the programs of your choice.

CaRMS must emphasize that during the interview, neither applicant nor program interviewer must ask the other to make a commitment as to how they intend to rank the other. To do so would be to break the CaRMS contract.

Invitations for interview as well as other notices from programs will likely come by e-mail. Make sure that your e-mail account is set up to accept e-mails sent in bulk as well as those from addresses that are not in your address book.

If you decide that you are not going to attend a scheduled interview, you should contact the program in advance to cancel your appointment.

Video conferencing interviews

In some cases it may save you time and money to arrange to have your interview through video conference. Some program directors have indicated that they would be willing to conduct interviews in this manner. However, it is entirely your responsibility to book the facilities and you must pay for both yourself and your interviewer to participate. You must contact each program to which you apply to ensure that this is a viable alternative.
