FM/Emergency Med. Match (R-3)

Application Process - Ranking

Rank Order Lists are the sole determinant of your match. Applicants specify their preferences from among the programs to which they have applied and wish to be matched. Programs specify their preferences from among the applicants who have applied to their program. All Rank Order Lists will be submitted electronically through the Applicant Webstation (AWS) or the Program Webstation (PWS).

Even though applicants and programs create and save a Rank Order List, you cannot be matched unless you submit your Rank Order List.

The ranking system opens approximately four (4) weeks before the Rank Order List deadline. You are strongly encouraged to complete and submit your list well before the deadline date. CaRMS cannot guarantee the electronic completion of your Rank Order List if you wait until the last minute. CaRMS will not accept reasons of transmission difficulties to extend the deadline time. Applicants and Programs are responsible for keeping a copy of their submitted rank list for their future reference.

Undergraduate Deans

There are reports available to the undergraduate dean's office to monitor students' status during the ranking period.

Postgraduate Deans

While programs are entering their Rank Order Lists, the postgraduate dean's office staff have access to reports.
