FM/Emergency Med. Match (R-3)

Application Process - Withdraw

If you wish to withdraw from the CaRMS match, you must do so before the Rank Order List deadline. There are no exceptions. Withdrawal from CaRMS will automatically prevent you from being matched and you will not receive any match results or list of available positions. If you are matched to a residency position outside of the CaRMS match (i.e. the US match), you are required to notify CaRMS and to withdraw before the Rank Order List deadline.

The withdraw function is accessed through the Applicant Webstation (AWS). For detailed instructions on how to withdraw, please refer to the AWS Help Manual.

To withdraw from AWS:
Once you submit your application, you can withdraw from the match right up until the withdraw deadline. If you decide to withdraw, you actually remove your application from ALL programs. In other words, you are no longer in the match. Please tell us your reason. After you have withdrawn, you can reinstate your application before the withdraw deadline. But remember, if the Program File Review Period has begun, it will be up to you to let the programs know that you have reinstated.
