The Pediatric Critical Care program is of a minimal length of 2 or 3 years. Every year is divided into 13 periods of 4 weeks. 12-15 periods take place in a multidisciplinary pediatric critical care service, including postoperative cardiac surgery care.
The first year is usually nearly entirely dedicated to clinical care. During this year, the program includes the following rotations:
- At least 7 periods in general intensive care (medical-surgical) pediatric or in post operative pediatric cardiac surgery.
- At least 1 period in pediatric anesthesia.
- At least 2 periods in research.
The second year of the program is first and foremost dedicated to research. The second year of the program is distributed as follows:
- 2-4 periods in general intensive care (medical-surgical) pediatric or in post operative pediatric cardiac surgery.
- Up to 9 periods in research or in optional rotations.
The program proposed here high can be adapted in order to allow the candidate to get a Masters in biomedical Sciences, option clinical research, during the 2 years where the candidate participates in the pediatric critical care program.
