This is a two year PGY4 and PGY5 program leading to RCPSC exams in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. Applicants must have completed 3 years core internal medicine training approved by the RCPSC. Love of working with older adults essential. Excellent interpersonal skills and facility with the assessment and management of complex medical conditions is a definite asset.

Program Highlights
Highly respected and very successful program that is flexible within the confines of the RCPSC requirements. The Program is geared to allow the resident to meet his or her learning needs to prepare them for practice in Geriatric Medicine in a variety of settings. Relatively large and diverse faculty over multiple sites allow for an excellent experience in many different models of Geriatric care provision. Excellent research track record if resident interested. No mandatory on call for the last time ever in your career.
Program Curriculum
First year consists of core Geriatric Medicine clinical rotations in a variety of sites. Second year has one core rotation, Geriatric Psychiatry and various selectives and electives. Rotations depend on residents’ learning objectives and needs. Ongoing longitudinal clinic experience where resident follows his or her own patients for the entire two years. Dedicated academic half days for small group learning. Approved research or other major projects assigned half day or rotation for completion.
