Dr. Slodovnick is a psychiatry resident completing his Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at the University of Toronto, as part of the June 2025 graduating cohort. After completing an Honours. B.Sc. in psychology from York University in 2016, he entered medical school at McMaster University, graduating in 2019. During his years at McMaster, Paul served as a student representative to the Student Services committee, advocating for various initiatives on behalf of medical students at his institution. In 2019, Paul moved to Ottawa to begin a general psychiatry residency at the University of Ottawa. During his residency, Paul held various positions on the psychiatry resident executive, including as social rep, and academic representative, UGME rep, and serving for several years as his cohort’s resident representative to the residency program committee, as well as a term as Chief Resident at CHEO.

Paul has been involved heavily as an elected representative with PARO, initially elected as a general council representative from University of Ottawa in 2021. Following his first term, Paul was elected as Ottawa’s PARO site chair, and oversaw the team’s activities, presided over meetings, represented PARO on several liaison committees, represented PARO at Ottawa’s PGME meetings, and collaborated with other representatives across the province. Paul also completed PARO’s 2-year Physician Leadership training program. In the summer of 2023, Paul was elected to PARO’s provincial Board of Directors, and continues to serve on various external liaison committees, as well as participating in multiple strategic initiatives.
