Tavis Apramian, PhD is the former Vice President Education of the Canadian Federation of Medical Students (CFMS). He is a medical student (Class of 2019) in the MD/PhD program at Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University. Tavis completed an MA (English) at Carleton University, an MSc (Narrative Medicine) at Columbia University, and a PhD (Health Professional Education) at Western University. Tavis’ medical education research focuses on workplace-based learning and assessment in surgery and his student government work with the CFMS focuses on early clinical exposure, social accountability, and interprofessional education.
Tavis is the former Director of Education for the Ontario Medical Students’ Association (2015-2016) and served as a Working Group Chair on the Education Committee of the Canadian Federation of Medical Students (CFMS) from 2013-2016.
