Ms. Mariya Andreeva was nominated by the Fédération Médicale Étudiante du Québec (FMEQ) to succeed Dr. Roxanne St-Pierre-Alain as FMEQ’s nominated Director on the CaRMS Board.
Mariya is a 3rd year medical student at the Université de Sherbrooke and the current finances and human resources delegate at the FMEQ. Before pursuing her studies in the field of medicine, Mariya obtained her Bachelor of Laws at Université de Sherbrooke as well as a 2nd cycle diploma in Taxation. She is also currently enrolled in a Master of research in health sciences program at the Université de Sherbrooke.
Ever since entering medical school, she has been involved in student representation through her local student association, AGEMUS (Association générale étudiante en médecine de l’Université de Sherbrooke), as well as with various other committees and projects. As such, Mariya became familiar with the various challenges medical students face during their studies and preparation for residency. This naturally led her to seek a position at the FMEQ, where she hopes she can make an impact on academic, social, and political topics concerning medical students and the healthcare field in general.
