Rahnuma completed her BSc in Biochemistry from UBC. Before medical school, she was the Research Coordinator for the Division of General Surgery at Vancouver General Hospital and a crisis line call-taker for Fraser Health Crisis Line.

Since beginning medical school, Rahnuma has served as the VP Academic of her Class Council at UBC Medicine and is currently the VP Equity, Diversity and Inclusion for UBC’S Medical Undergraduate Society. Passionate about improving medical education, Rahnuma is also the National Officer of Education – Advocacy for CFMS. She is currently a student representative on the Learner Advisory Committee for SFU’s School of Medicine.

Rahnuma is passionate about equity – not only in our healthcare system but also in medical education and the systems that govern medicine. Her research interests lie in access to healthcare, medical education, women’s health, and child development. She is honoured and extremely excited to be a part of the CaRMS Board of Directors this year.
