Welcome to the new Match Point!

Blog - JohnYou may have noticed that this issue of Match Point looks a little different than what you’re used to—and there’s a good reason for that. Here at CaRMS we’re always looking for ways we can better serve our clients and stakeholders, and the newly revamped Match Point is part and parcel of our plan to continue to put you at the centre of everything we do.

Our new format makes it easier than ever for you to connect with our updates, and it will allow us to better understand the topics you’re interested in hearing about so we can give you more of what you want from CaRMS. New senior staff

I’m excited to announce two new additions to CaRMS’ executive team who’ve joined the organization in the past couple of months. Chief Services Officer Brendan Mullen and Chief Operating Officer Rob Lee bring with them tremendous skills, dynamic energy and new ideas that will help drive CaRMS’ continuing focus on innovation and excellent client service.

In this edition

Collaboration with other members of the medical education community has always been a priority for CaRMS. In this edition of Match Point, you’ll see this commitment in action through our increased engagement with learner organizations, as well as our focus on understanding the journey of the unmatched student as part of the AFMC Resident Match Committee. Continuing the learner theme, we’re also sharing some first-hand advice and information from some of the dedicated career counsellors who guide applicants through the match process.

You’ll also find the latest on other ways CaRMS is working to provide value to our clients and stakeholders. CaRMS Online is in a constant state of development so that we can ensure its functionality and features meet users’ needs. In addition to a rundown of the latest CaRMS Online enhancements, you’ll also get to meet one of the developers who implements them. Finally, we’re sharing something from ‘behind the curtain’—our business continuity planning. The match can’t stop, so find out what we’re doing to ensure it never does.
