Ranking is determining the order of preference from most preferred to least preferred. Applicants rank their desired programs, excluding any programs to which they applied but do not want to train. Likewise, programs rank applicants in order of preference, excluding any applicants they are not willing to train.

Rank order lists (ROLs) are the only true determinant of match outcome. The ranking process can seem daunting, but we’re here to help.
