Introducing Residency Link – CaRMS’ ongoing series of tips and useful information for the R-1 match year
The Residency Link series of communications provides medical students and medical graduates with tips and useful information to facilitate their R-1 match year. We created this publication to help clarify the role CaRMS and other stakeholders involved play in the match process, as well as dispel myths regarding the application process.
“There are many players that have jurisdiction over the various components in the match process. Every match cycle CaRMS comes into contact with erroneous or misleading information about the role CaRMS plays, which can end up confusing applicants as they prepare their applications,” said Irving Gold, Vice President of CaRMS. “We want the information in Residency Link to clarify the application process, as well as who is responsible for setting policies and requirements, so that learners applying for residency positions in Canada have the most accurate information possible.”
