2019 FM/EM match
If you have not previously participated in a CaRMS match, you can register here starting July 11, 2018.
You will notice that there are milestones and deadlines listed in this timeline. Milestones are simply recommended dates designed to help you keep your application on track during each phase of the application process. These milestones are not deadlines.
All applicants may log into their CaRMS Online account using their existing username and password to participate in the match. If you have forgotten your username or password, click on the Forgot your username or password option on the CaRMS Online login page.
Approved program descriptions for all programs that are participating in the Family Medicine/Emergency Medicine Match are available on CaRMS.ca for applicants to review.
Applicants may start selecting programs to which they wish to apply on CaRMS Online and assign requested documents.
All your MCC examinations and documents should be shared in the physiciansapply.ca transfers section of your application on CaRMS Online by today to ensure your examination scores and documents are retrieved from the MCC before file review begins on September 19.
If you would like for your transcript, MSPR or any letters of reference to be translated using our translation service, you must make the request through CaRMS Online by today to allow sufficient time for translation before file review begins on September 19. Documents must be available in your CaRMS Online application in order for us to be able to process the translation.
Note: we will continue to process translations that are requested after this date, but, due to the high volume of requests, we cannot guarantee they will be available in your account before file review begins.
If referees are sending hardcopy reference letters by mail, applicants should ensure they arrive at CaRMS by this date to guarantee they will be processed into their CaRMS Online application before letters of reference are available for programs to review.
CaRMS will continue to process letters that arrive after this date, but, due to the volume of documents received, cannot guarantee they will be scanned into applications before letters of reference are available for programs to review.
Referees must submit FM/EM Assessment forms through their CaRMS Online accounts by this date.
Your applications and all required documents must be assigned to programs by September 19 at 12:00 (noon) ET for it to be considered as being submitted on time.
All applications and document assignments completed after this time will be time-stamped as late.
Note: some programs will not review late applications or a document that arrives late. We encourage you to review program descriptions to ensure programs will review your application if it is submitted after file review has begun.
Programs may access all submitted applications and documents. They will review applications and communicate with applicants to schedule interviews.
All invitations to interviews are sent by programs by today.
Interviews are scheduled during this period.
Applicants and programs may begin creating their rank order lists.
Applicants must submit their rank order list through CaRMS Online by 15:00 ET. This deadline is firm – no rank order lists can be submitted after this time.
Note: you may modify your submitted list, but you must re-submit the list before the deadline.
Match results for the 2019 Family Medicine/Emergency Medicine Match are available through CaRMS Online.
This is the last day to access information in your CaRMS Online account for the 2019 Family Medicine/Emergency Medicine Match. You will no longer have access to the information in your application after this date.
