CRITERIA FOR ALL MEDICAL GRADUATES |

GENERAL INFORMATION | To be eligible in Quebec, candidates must hold a medical degree from a Canadian or US medical school, a DO degree from a school accredited by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association or a degree from outside Canada or the United States (IMG).
They must be in the second year of a family medicine residency or have passed the family medicine certification examination of the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Applicants submitting an admission application must be able to demonstrate with official documentation that they have either:
Within the four years preceding the admission application: Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate that they have had a sustained and continuous independent clinical practice for a minimum duration of one year within the four years preceding the request. Please note that observerships and telemedicine are not considered independent clinical practice. |

SOURCE OF FUNDING | Positions are funded by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux du Québec (unless otherwise specified). Some non-Ministry of Health positions may be available with another funding source; they are identified as such. |

RESTRICTIONS

For NON MOH (non-Ministry of Health funded positions), candidates who obtained their MD in Québec and who have completed or currently completing residency training in Québec (whether in the contingent régulier or the contingent particulier) are not eligible.
The following candidates are not eligible to apply under this stream:
Trainees admitted in an Enhanced skills program in Québec are not eligible to apply to the Match to change programs. |

MEDICAL COUNCIL OF CANADA EXAMS | If an IMG is already training in Canada or in the United States, there is no additional requirements for this match. |
RETURN OF SERVICE (ROS) REQUIREMENTS | There are no provincial ROS requirements. |
MEDICAL EDUCATION | Recognition of the equivalency of the MD degree is not required for IMGs already training in Canada/United States.
To apply, IMGs must be currently registered in a Québec Medical School in the contingent régulier or the contingent particulier or in another Faculty of Medicine in Canada or the United States. |
