If applicants match in the first iteration
If applicants match in the first iteration of the match, their matched program will contact them within 30 days. Unless arranged differently with the program, the residency training will begin on July 1 of the match year.
If applicants didn’t match in the first iteration
They can participate in the second iteration of the match any time after noon on Match Day. Consult the second iteration timeline for detailed information.
If applicants match in the second iteration
If applicants match in the second iteration, their matched program will contact them within 30 days. Unless they arrange differently with the program, their residency training will begin on July 1 of your match year.
If applicants didn’t match in the second iteration
They can participate in the post-match process. This process allows unmatched applicants to apply to programs that are still considering applications. Please note that programs are not obligated to participate in this process. Available positions, which will be listed in the post-match process program descriptions, can be added or removed at any time. There is no cost for the post-match process as no ranking or matching services are provided. Consult the post-match process timeline for detailed information.
