As we announced earlier this year, this spring the Medicine Subspecialty Match (MSM) is being renamed the Fall Subspecialty Residency Match (FSRM), and the Pediatric Subspecialty Match (PSM) is becoming the Spring Subspecialty Residency Match (SSRM).
We are currently in the process of updating carms.ca to reflect the new match names. As a result, you may notice some changes to content on pages for these two matches in the coming weeks, as well as to the URLs for these pages. While redirects have been implemented to minimize disruption, we still suggest updating any bookmarks you may currently have saved for these matches to the new links with the updated match names.
You will also notice gradual changes in other places as we implement the new match names across all of our channels – including our social media and Help Centre. The new match names will also be in place in CaRMS Online when the system opens for the 2026 Fall Subspecialty Residency Match this coming June, and the 2027 Spring Subspecialty Residency Match later this year.
