The Medicine Subspecialty Match (MSM) is renamed the Fall Subspecialty Residency Match (FSRM), and the Pediatric Subspecialty Match (PSM) becomes the Spring Subspecialty Residency Match (SSRM).
As interest in joining a match has grown, the Medicine Subspecialty Match (occurring in the Fall) and the Pediatric Subspecialty Match (occurring in the Spring) have both begun welcoming disciplines outside of their primary specialty. Renaming the matches according to the time of year they occur eliminates confusion caused by the former discipline-specific labels and ensures that new disciplines feel welcome to join whichever match best fits their needs.
