Dr. Carl White Ulysse is an Anesthesiologist at the Hospital for Sick Children, where he completed his fellowship in pediatric anesthesia. He is a graduate of the MDCM program at McGill University and of the anesthesia residency program at the University of Toronto. During that time, he has held many leadership positions including Executive Vice-President of the Canadian Federation of Medical Students (CFMS), President of the Professional Association of Residents of Ontario (PARO) and most recently President of Resident Doctors of Canada (RDoC), where he was the first Black President in the organization’s history.

In addition to his medical training, Carl has completed a Master of Business Administration at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he has also obtained a certificate in Public Management and Social Innovation.

As a queer man of colour, Carl is passionate about Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI). After being involved with EDI workshops for business students at Stanford, he oversaw the initial phase of implementation of the EDI framework at PARO. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of Interligne, an established Montreal-based not-for-profit running a front-line centre for help and information for people affected by sexual and gender diversity.
