Future match timelines are provided to support match planning activities. These timelines are approved by the AFMC Resident Matching Committee (ARMC) and may be subject to change.

2026 Family Medicine/Enhanced Skills Match

If you have not previously participated in a CaRMS match, you can register here starting July 9, 2025 at 12:00 (noon) ET.

CaRMS Online opens for applicants

Applicants may begin the application process.

Applicants who participated in a previous match can log into their CaRMS Online account using their existing username and password to participate in the match. Anyone who has forgotten their username or password can click on the ‘Forgot your username or password’ option on the CaRMS Online login page.

Program descriptions approved by PGME offices and available on carms.ca

Program descriptions for all programs participating in the match should be approved and available on carms.ca for applicants to review. Once program descriptions are approved, they are immediately available on carms.ca for applicants to consult.

DEADLINE: Translation requests

Applicants who would like their MSPR or applicant assessment forms to be translated using the CaRMS-facilitated translation service must make the request through CaRMS Online by today to allow sufficient time for translation before file review begins. Documents must be available in your CaRMS Online application in order for us to be able to process the translation.

We will continue to process translations that are requested after this date, but, due to the high volume of requests, we cannot guarantee they will be available in your account before file review begins.

Program selection opens

Applicants can start selecting the programs to which they wish to apply and assigning requested documents.

 

8 September 2025 at 21:00 ET 

DEADLINE: Submission of applicant assessment forms

Referees must submit applicant assessment forms through their CaRMS Online accounts by this date.

Referees can submit references after this date and time; however, this may impact the time available for applicants to submit complete applications to programs prior to the opening of file review.

If applicants would like their references to be translated by the CaRMS-facilitated translation service, they must be submitted before the translation request deadline.

 

9 September 2025 at 12:00 (noon) ET

DEADLINE: Submission and assignment of applications and documents

Applications and all required documents must be submitted and assigned to programs by 12:00 (noon) ET today to be considered on time.

Any applications and documents submitted or assigned after 12:00 (noon) ET today will be time-stamped as late.

Some programs will not review late applications or documents. Consult program descriptions to ensure programs will review your application if it is submitted after file review has begun.

File review begins

Programs now have access to all submitted applications and documents.

 

2 October 2025

DEADLINE: Interview status updates in CaRMS Online

Programs are to complete all initial interview offer status updates in CaRMS Online by end of day.

 

3 October 2025

DEADLINE: Invitations to interviews complete

All invitations to interviews are sent by programs by this date.

 

10 October to 28 November 2025

National interview period

Interviews are conducted during this period. Programs are responsible for scheduling interviews with applicants directly.

Ranking period begins

Applicants and programs may begin creating their rank order lists in CaRMS Online.

 

2 December 2025 at 15:00 ET

DEADLINE: Applicant rank order list

Applicants must submit their rank order list through CaRMS Online by 15:00 ET. This deadline is firm – no rank order lists can be submitted after this time.

 

11 December 2025 at 12:00 ET

MATCH DAY

Match results are available through CaRMS Online.

 

14 January 2026 at 15:00 ET

CaRMS Online access closes

This is the last day to access information in your CaRMS Online account for this match. You will no longer have access to the information in your application after this date.

Post-match process opens for applicants

Participating programs are listed in the program description directory.

Applicants can log into CaRMS Online and submit their application, along with required documents, to programs that are still accepting applications.

Once an application is submitted, it is immediately available to programs for review. All arrangements (interviews, offers, etc.) are coordinated between the postgraduate office, the program and the applicant; CaRMS is not involved beyond application submission.

 

14 January 2026 at 15:00 ET

Post-match process closes

The post-match process closes. Applicants are no longer able to apply to programs and programs are no longer able to view applications.

The post-match process may close early if all programs are withdrawn prior to the closing date.
