If you match in the first iteration
Your matched program will contact you within 30 days. Unless you arrange differently with the program, your residency training will begin on July 1 of your match year.
If you don’t match in the first iteration
You can participate in the second iteration of the match anytime after 12:00 (noon) ET on first iteration Match Day. All positions not filled in first iteration move to second iteration, so review the list of unfilled positions and consult the second iteration timeline for detailed information.
If you match in the second iteration
Your matched program will contact you within 30 days. Unless you arrange differently with the program, your residency training will begin on July 1 of your match year.
If you don’t match in the second iteration
You can participate in the post-match process (PMP). This process allows unmatched applicants to apply to programs that are still considering applications. Please note that programs are not obligated to participate in this process. Available positions, which will be listed in the post-match process program descriptions, can be added or removed at any time. There is no cost for the post-match process as no ranking or matching services are provided. Consult the PMP timeline and PMP contract for detailed information.
