| GENERAL INFORMATION | For Entry in the 2027-28 Academic Year
The following policies apply to the 2027 Spring Subspecialty Residency Match. It is important to note that individual programs may have specific criteria that are used to review applications. Applicants are responsible for reviewing program-specific criteria, as well as the provincial criteria listed below, to ensure they meet all required eligibility criteria. Pediatric residents who will be completing their PGY4 training after December 31, 2026, are eligible to apply to the 2027 SSRM match. CPSBC Registration – All matched applicants must meet the criteria for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) for postgraduate medical education. Any delays in providing all required documentation to CPSBC may result in a delay in the issuance of an educational licence, and a delay in the start of postgraduate training. |

| TRAINING LEVEL ELIGIBILITY | All Pediatrics residents in ACGME-accredited Pediatrics programs who are interested in applying for a Pediatrics subspecialty program in Canada will need to have their training assessed by the RCPSC in comparison to Canadian training.

| MEDICAL COUNCIL OF CANADA EXAMS | Examination: MCCQE Part I
If applicants have completed residency training in the United States they may be exempted from the MCCQE1 requirement if they have passed the USMLE Step 1, Step 2 and Step 3. Any exemptions will be determined by The College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC). Medical Council of Canada (MCC) examination data and documents are only accepted as transfers from physiciansapply.ca. Instructions on how to transfer documents from physiciansapply.ca to your CaRMS account can be found here. |
