2025 R-1 Main Residency Match — second iteration

Reference documents are an essential part of an application, so the applicants who’ve asked you to provide one are counting on you to submit it on time so it can be processed into their account before it’s time for programs to review references.

Submit references electronically through your CaRMS Online referee account.

7 January 2025 at 12:00 (noon) ET

CaRMS Online opens for applicants

Applicants may begin the application process, including sending reference requests through CaRMS Online.

March 2025

17 March 2025 at 21:00 ET

DEADLINE: Reference submission

References must be submitted by this date to give applicants enough time to assign them to programs before the opening of file review.

Referees can submit references after this date and time; however, this may impact the time available for applicants to submit complete applications to programs prior to the opening of file review on March 18 at 12:00 ET.

If applicants would like their references to be translated by the CaRMS-facilitated translation service, they must be submitted before the translation request deadline of February 21 at 17:00 ET.
