On Saturday, September 30, CaRMS recognizes and observes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Today we reflect on the painful and lasting impacts of residential schools in Canada. We join Canadians from coast to coast in memorializing the children lost to the residential school system and honouring survivors, their families, and communities. This federal statutory holiday recognizes the intergenerational harm that residential schools caused to Indigenous families and communities, and commemorates all of those affected by this injustice.
