The following applies to the 2027 Family Medicine Enhanced Skills match |
| LICENSING BODY | All matched applicants must meet the criteria for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) for postgraduate medical education. Any delays in providing all required documentation to CPSBC may result in a delay in the issuance of an educational licence, and a delay in the start of postgraduate training. |

| RESTRICTIONS | Residents in a combined Public Health and Preventive Medicine-Family Medicine program are not eligible to apply to British Columbia programs in the Family Medicine/Enhanced Skills Match. |

| MEDICAL COUNCIL OF CANADA EXAMS | There are no provincial MCC Examination requirements. |
| RETURN OF SERVICE (ROS) REQUIREMENTS | UBC accepts applications from physicians with a Return of Service (ROS) commitment, such as International Medical Graduates (IMGs). Applicants must declare any Return of Service (ROS) obligation at the time of application and may be disqualified if their provincial obligations preclude R-3 training. UBC may disclose your application’s status or outcome to the BC Ministry of Health if applicable. A Letter of Approval from the Applicant’s Return of Service Program giving approval to defer or pause their ROS obligation for the duration of the training is also required. ROS or IMG Applicants who do not attach this letter will not be considered. |
