GENERAL INFORMATION For Entry in the 2025-2026 Academic Year

The following applies to the 2025 Family Medicine Enhanced Skills match

LICENSING BODY All matched applicants must meet the criteria for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) for postgraduate medical education.

TRAINING LEVEL ELIGIBILITY Subspecialty: Enhanced skills

  • Training level: Current Canadian Family Medicine training​
  • Eligibility details:Trainees currently enrolled in the 2nd year of an accredited CFPC Family Medicine Residency program OR have already obtained CCFP certification.
RESTRICTIONS Please be aware the Provincial Health Officer (PHO) in British Columbia has mandated that all hospital and health care employers establish, implement, and ensure compliance with a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy effective October 26, 2021. Residents matched to any University of British Columbia residency program must ensure they are able to comply with the PHO directive in order to start training on July 1, 2025.

ADDITIONAL CRITERIA FOR INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL GRADUATES

MEDICAL COUNCIL OF CANADA EXAMS There are no provincial MCC Examination requirements.
RETURN OF SERVICE (ROS) REQUIREMENTS International Medical Graduates applicants must declare any Return of Service obligations on the application and may be disqualified if their provincial obligations preclude R-3 training.
